The Turkish Association of Mill and Sector Machinery Manufacturers (DESMÜD) supports the "zero waste" approach, which is planned to be implemented on a global basis with the adoption of innovative technologies, efficiency measures and sustainable production methods and which we call on the whole world to "volunteer", and strives to implement it in its member workplaces. DESMÜD promotes and encourages the zero waste approach, which is a resource and waste management based on transformation, encourages sustainable production and consumption habits, supports the efficient use of resources, avoids waste, and advocates the prevention, reduction, reuse and recycling of waste. Thus, by adopting this transformation approach, which can help to achieve positive socio-economic results, including the development of social solidarity, DESMÜD has adopted as its mission the objectives included in its vision such as waste reduction, renewable energy use, energy efficiency and protection of water resources.

Zeki Demirtaşoğlu, President of the Turkish Association of Mill and Sector Machinery Manufacturers (DESMÜD), said that the zero waste approach is an eco-economic system that aims to eliminate waste and pollution by using products, components and materials for as long as possible, this approach is the opposite of the traditional linear economy based on the take-make-dispose production model, with the zero waste approach, He stated that DESMÜD members will adopt a more environmentally friendly business model by making radical changes in the production models and business management of member enterprises that continue their activities in environmental awareness and sustainability, and that with a renewed business process that will take into account the needs of society and nature with zero waste, DESMÜD members will be able to carry their production into the future in a sustainable and healthy way with the least damage to the environment.

President Demirtaşoğlu added that they are also organising a competition among the member companies of DESMÜD in order to increase the awareness of zero waste practices of their members and to introduce the companies that pioneer in this issue, and at the end of the competition, they will give various awards to the companies that will be in the top three, and in this way, they aim to increase the interest in zero waste and ensure its sustainability.

In this context, we would like to inform you that the member companies of our association should share their zero waste practices with DESMÜD management until 15 January 2024 and wish you good work.
