Our struggle for independence, fuelled by the spirit of unity, solidarity and independence, was crowned with the establishment of the Republic of Türkiye. However, this path has not been an easy one. After 3.5 years of War of Independence, when the Republic of Türkiye was founded by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, Turkey was a country with a small population, a weak economy and no influence on the world. Nowadays, as we celebrate the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we can say with great confidence that Türkiye is one of the most important countries in the world.
Being one of the richest countries in the world in agriculture, plant and animal genetic diversity, utilising this wealth very well in agricultural and industrial productivity, the determination to get out of every difficult situation and the joy of living as the Republic of Türkiye, our country has proven that it is one of the most important countries in the world today.
From a country that emerged from a long war of liberation, whose economy was dependent on foreign countries, which missed the industrial revolution and could not produce and had only 4 factories, today, as a result of the economic development efforts carried out with a national understanding, it has turned into a Republic of Türkiye that has strengthened its economic independence by establishing hundreds of factories and reducing imports and increasing exports. The basis of a country's independence is undoubtedly its economic power. Having this power is through production. Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who said "Independence is my character", laid the foundations of the independence of the Republic of Türkiye with the industrial revolution he realised in the early years of the republic, despite the economic wreckage in the country. These efforts, which started with the industrial revolution, are sincerely continued today by the diligent and hardworking industrialists of our country. As a young country of 100 years, the Republic of Türkiye, which was a wreck after the War of Independence, has undoubtedly won its second war in the field of economic development after the difficult War of Independence it fought in the face of impossibilities. This young, non-producing, foreign-dependent and indebted Republic of Türkiye was aware that it faced a great responsibility. For this reason, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his friends had big goals and heavy burdens.
The national goal was clear. It was not difficult to find ways to reach it. The important thing was to work sincerely and diligently on those difficult paths. In this regard, there was everything needed, but it was necessary to be industrious and to work, work, work hard. Naturally, wealth and its natural result, prosperity and happiness, could only be achieved as a result of this hard work. At the point we have reached today, we have to celebrate and keep alive our Republic, which is one of the features that make our country very strong and ensures our unity and solidarity in a strong way, with even more enthusiasm in this 100th anniversary. We have to be aware that we have to work hard for a Republic of Turkey in the future and a flag at the top.
As the Association of Milling and Sector Machinery Manufacturers (DESMÜD), while celebrating our Republic Day with enthusiasm as a nation in this centenary year of the republic, we hereby promise once again that we will work for our goal of achieving our goal of "going forward and always going forward", which is one of the most important goals of our republic, and we consider it a debt of loyalty to commemorate the founder of our Republic, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his heroic comrades-in-arms, our beloved martyrs and veterans with mercy and gratitude.
Long Live our Republic, Long Live Türkiye.
