Demirtaşoğlu stated that the members of the association realise one fourth of the machinery exports and expressed that the sector needs more support and long term investment credits.

DESMÜD President Zeki Demirtaşoğlu stated that a significant portion of Turkey's machinery exports are carried out by the members of the association and emphasised the success of the sector. Demirtaşoğlu stated that they have a unit value well above the average of Turkey and emphasised that the infrastructure should be strengthened for the continuation of this success.
Pointing out that many industrialists invest their equity capital in factories and R&D activities, Demirtaşoğlu said that long-term investment loans are needed for this reason. Demirtaşoğlu emphasised the difficulty for industrialists to export with short-term credits and explained the need for long-term credits.
Relocation of EXIMBANK and Access Problem
Zeki Demirtaşoğlu criticised the relocation of EXİMBANK to Istanbul and stated that this change made it difficult for Anatolian industrialists to reach EXİMBANK. He stated that Ankara should also have strong financial centres since Ankara is the capital city and most of the exports take place in Anatolia. He also added that the financial centre in Istanbul is vulnerable to earthquake risk.
